William A. Ensing

William A. Ensing concentrates his practice in domestic and international asset protection and estate planning. Bill successfully structures and implements sophisticated and comprehensive techniques that help individuals and businesses achieve their wealth preservation and succession goals.

Bill spent several years with the Northern Trust Company, Chicago, leading the Family Business Division of the Trust and Financial Services Department, where he monitored closely held companies and tax driven partnerships owned by trusts and estates.

Once in private practice, Bill continued estate planning and added an international component by forming captive insurance companies in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda for physicians and health care professionals during the mid-1980s. This fully introduced international planning opportunities into his practice and established a foundation for integrating protection of client wealth at an advanced level using structures that included complex international elements.

Bill is a 1980 graduate of Lake Forest College, (BA Economics with Dean’s Honors) and a 1985 graduate of IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law (Dean’s Honors). He is a private pilot, struggling musician, and enjoys fly-fishing across the United States and abroad.
